Welcome to Locia Farms

Locia Farms (pronounced lo-SEE-ah) is a peaceful six-acre hideaway in the heart of Morriston, Ocala; Florida's horse country.

The name "Locia" carries a double meaning. It is a blend of our family names, Lopez and Garcia, but it also echoes an ancient biblical tradition connected to Tabitha (also called Dorcas), a woman "full of good works and almsdeeds" (Acts 9:36). Remembered in some traditions as Locia, she lived her faith through service, generosity, and the work of her hands. Her story of restoration became a testimony that led many to believe.

That story resonates with us deeply. Our grandmothers and parents were role models who embodied those same values; women and men who found joy in tending gardens, raising animals, and feeding not just their families, but neighbors and friends as well. They taught us that farming is more than food production; it is an act of love, service, and faith. Their lives, like Tabitha's, were full of good works, lived out in quiet strength and devotion.

Though we pursued engineering and professional careers, those early lessons never left us. God, in His own timing, called us back to the soil, not only to provide for our children, but to continue the legacy of stewardship and generosity we witnessed in our family. Locia Farms is our way of honoring their example while creating new traditions for the next generation.

Here, the land is powered by the sun, nurtured by hand, and shared with a lively crew of goats, chickens, and visitors like you. Our prayer is that Locia Farms becomes more than a farm: that it will be a place of hospitality, renewal, and community, where every harvest reflects God's goodness and where faith and tradition continue to grow together.
